Our warranty includes parts and labor to make any needed repairs for the periods listed. Faucets are guaranteed not to leak, drip or run for the warranty period. Obviously, there is no warranty for customer supplied items - this is an important benefit of selecting Able Plumbing supplied professional-grade items. Q: What makes my water heater rumble? A: The most common cause of this problem in our area is the collection of calcium and magnesium deposits in the base of the tank. Water containing these dissolved minerals is referred to as "Hard Water" and it affects a lot more than just your water heater. First though, back to the water heater rumble explanation. As a sediment layer builds between the heat source of the water heater and the incoming cold water, the moisture below the sediment layer heats to the boiling point and the resulting gases "POP" through the sediment layer with the audible rumble or popping sound that you hear. This is not a dangerous situation, but is a concern and can lead to premature failure of your water heater. It also causes the water heater to consume much more energy, resulting in a higher gas/energy bill. You will also notice a decrease in available hot water. We have cut open many water heaters and found as much as ten inches of sediment build up - your water heater certainly can't do its job well under those conditions. Now back to the real source of the matter - the Hard Water. Hard water affects the life of every aspect of your plumbing system, creates most of the white staining you find on fixtures, glassware, etc., and affects your clothes, your hair, your skin and the taste of your water. Your Able Plumbing technician would be happy to test your water on-the-spot and answer important questions about your water quality and provide you with the best options and suggestions to improve the quality of your water to eliminate these and other problems and costs caused by bad water. |
